NFP Partners completed its first Nonprofit Financial Management 101 training workshop March 21. The 3-hour workshop, sponsored by the Colorado Nonprofit Association (CNA) and Nonprofit Cultivation Center, was held in Lafayette and was attended by 13 nonprofit executives. Judging from the enthusiasm demonstrated during the interactive workshop and the ratings received, the workshop was a success and a great start. It will be refined and repeated several times over the remainder of the year at various venues. The next one is scheduled for May 22 at the Colorado Nonprofit Association in Denver.
The FM 101 workshop addresses a critical need for executive directors of startup and early-growth nonprofit organizations. For those responsible Executive Directors who acknowledge that they ‘know what they don’t know’ about financial management, the training will help them get up to speed on basic finance and accounting principles and practices.
We at NFP Partners are pleased to make this training available through the CNA. We have a deep understanding of nonprofit finance both at the strategic and practical levels from the extensive experience of our consultants gained as CPAs and nonprofit controllers or CFOs, and in providing outsourced accounting services to nonprofits as a practical and cost-effective alternative for small nonprofits maintaining an in-house accounting function.
